New horde mode: Free Dead Island 2 update

Dead Island 2, the zombie-slaying post-apocalyptic FPS from Dambuster Studios, is getting a free update in October. The update will include a co-op horde mode called Neighborhood Watch and New Game+. It comes the same day as the Ultimate Edition launches on October 22.

Neighborhood Watch is a zombie-infested wave mode in which relentless enemies attack a frat house in Venice Canals. Players are Bobcats, college students who must defend their home from the onslaught of zombies. Waves get increasingly difficult with more and more challenging enemies as it progresses.

Alongside the horde mode is New Game Plus, which lets players slice and blast their way through Hell-A once again. This time, the challenge is greater, and players get new weapons, items, an additional skill slot, and an increased level cap.

The upcoming update is all part of the release of the Dead Island 2 Ultimate Edition, which comes on October 22. The edition includes two story expansions, new cosmetics, weapon packs, and a premium skin pack.
