Darkest Dungeon 2 introduces an exciting new ‘Kingdoms’ mode, now available as a free update for all players. The strategic roguelike’s new standalone game mode has been released alongside the Inhuman Bondage DLC.
Darkest Dungeon 2 developer Red Hook Studios has finally released the long-awaited Kingdoms mode for the turn-based tactics dungeon crawler.
The first release in the Kingdoms update is Hunger of the Beast Clan, which is the first themed “module” in the new campaign mode, with more to follow soon.
Key Features of the Kingdoms Mode
Kingdoms rejuvenates the roguelike with a new board game-like aesthetic, with players forced to defend all of the inns on the board from various threats, with each tile offering a new challenge.
While playing the new mode, players can select the difficulty and use a number of characters across the board to defend the inns. Each run has a final boss, and modifiers will switch up how the mode is played, offering plenty of replayability.
Inhuman Bondage Update
The Darkest Dungeon: Inhuman Bondage DLC adds the new Catacombs region to the game, offering players high risk, high rewards, an area players can tackle with the new Abomination playable hero.
Both the Kingdoms mode and Inhuman Bondage DLC are available today. You can try the new Kingdoms campaign for free and you can check out DLC prices here.
Conclusion
The Darkest Dungeon 2 Kingdoms mode is a must-try for fans of strategic roguelike gameplay. Download the free update today and test your resolve! Are you excited for the new update and its future updates? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
