I have had such a wonderful time with Pokémon Violet and Scarlet. None of the issues that I have with these games are anything but the most mild and forgivable irritations. Meanwhile, the promise of a big but blissfully uncomplicated world, filled with adventure and monsters to collect, brought me right back to what drew me into the whole Pokémon franchise in the first place.

Pokemon Scarlet is an adventure game and the first with an open world in the series. Like in other Pokemon titles, you start as a new trainer, capture and evolve the little creatures and try to climb the ranks by defeating other trainers to reach the top. The game has some great features like a better than usual narrative, coop mode and new Pokemon but unfortunately the performance issues can ruin the experience a bit. Players can expect more content with future DLCs to come.
Pokèmon Scarlet, along with the counterpart Violet, is the very first title on the 9th Gen series. The Pokèmon series has come a long way since it’s very first title in 1996 (1998 in the west) with Red and Green (Blue in the west).
