Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Reviews
There’s no doubt in my mind that there’s more to do still in Shadow of the Erdtree if not in this playthrough than definitely the next. If anything, all those missed connections and areas unexplored only make the prospect of returning to the Realm of Shadow on New Game+ with a bunch of new toys to play with that much more enticing.

Shadow of the Erdtree doesn’t do anything particularly surprising for Elden Ring players, but it’s worth the price of admission just to see FromSoftware flex its world design expertise in a more compact playspace. It also fits perfectly into the middle of the main game, which means you can step into the Land of Shadow and return to the main world armed to the teeth with an arsenal of fun and unique new weapons, from hulking katanas to reverse grip swords, beast claws, and poison bottles.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is yet another masterpiece by FROMSOFTWARE. It doubles down on all of the best parts of Elden Ring and bolsters them through an inviting new world, an engaging story, and a ridiculously moreish gameplay loop. It won’t change your mind on Elden Ring if it never clicked for you, but will undoubtedly wow you if it did.

Elden Ring was an absolute masterpiece, and I’m hearing great things about the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. I wish I had the time to dive into it right now, but life’s too busy. Hopefully, I can pick it up in the near future, no way I’m missing out on more of that incredible world!
DLC is a beautiful disappointment. While visually impressive, its empty world, poorly implemented upgrade system, and frustratingly unbalanced boss fights make it a frustrating and ultimately unrewarding experience. It prioritizes spectacle over substance, leaving players with a hollow shell of what could have been a truly great expansion.
“what could have been a truly great expansion” you literally rated Elden Ring 0.5/5 mor**. What made you buy the DLC if you hated it so much? F*** are you saying man?
Spectacular, much better than the base game, which was already excellent.
For a DLC, it’s a 30-40 hrs game. I don’t remember such a long DLC, basically it’s a long game.
The map is spectacular and much more interesting to explore.
The enemies are all interesting, and difficult, the weakest one takes a lot of life from you.
The best game of the year so far, and a lesson for the AAA industry.
I love this new DLC for Elden Ring. All the new content, the new setting in the Realm of Shadow and the numerous bosses that take hours to defeat is amazing! The new weapons and armor sets are also great for new and old Elden Ring players. However, I think the price is a bit steep for a DLC but at least you can get it a bit cheaper with keys. Actually quite a good DLC.
I was waiting for this DLC for sooooo long… WOW, one of the best DLC in the gaming history, delivering a long playtime and upping a difficulty level to the max 🙂 love it 🙂
