About this game

Call of Duty Vanguard is a first-person shooter game developed by Sledgehammer Games, the 19th mainline entry in the Call of Duty franchise built on the next generation IW Engine. Call of Duty Vanguard takes place during the height of WWII and after the war, you will be able to experience the birth of the special forces and their pivotal role in influential battles on all of the 4 major fronts in the war Western, Eastern, North Africa, and the Pacific front. The game will also feature an expansive multiplayer, and zombies mode developed by Treyarch Studios.

• The Main Campaign as Mentioned Before the game will feature all 4 major fronts in WW2 you will be playing a new character in each front Private Lucas Riggs, Sergeant Arthur Kingsley, Lieutenant Wade Jackson, and Lieutenant Polina Petrova. After the war is over, all 4 future members of the special force’s unit are tasked to bring down Project Phoenix a plan to revive the Nazi Ideology by former members of the party.
• At launch, the game will feature 20 Multiplayer maps set across all the major fronts in WWII, 16 maps will be 6 vs 6, and 4 will be 2 vs 2. The maps will also feature some destructible elements like boards and other weak structures to open new paths.
• Champion hill is a new multiplayer game mode featured in Call of Duty Vanguard a battle royal-like mode, taking place in rounds and across 4 different maps, it can be played solo or with a duo.
• As mentioned previously Call of Duty Vanguard will feature the famous co-op zombie’s mode separately being developed by Treyarch Studios it will continue the Dark Aether storyline as a prequel to the events of Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

Overall, Call of Duty: Vanguard is a very welcome addition to the Call of Duty franchise. Sledgehammer has always helped drive the franchise forward into adventurous new territories and Vanguard is no exception. If you find yourself itching for a new FPS in your life, Vanguard is ready for you to pick up and is easy enough to drop into so that you’ll never feel out of place as a new player. If you’re wary about picking this game up because you’re someone who didn’t like the change from 2019 Modern Warfare’s engine to Treyarch’s in Cold War, then you’ll be happy to learn that this runs on Modern Warfare’s engine and the gunplay and visuals remain entirely intact.

All told, Call Of Duty: Vanguard has exceeded my expectations, especially after a less-than-promising pre-launch Alpha and press event. Then again, the Beta was drastically improved overall so I was already feeling more optimistic by launch. I’m also very excited for post-launch content like Shipment, League and Gunfight, as well as more MP and Zombies maps. Now that maps are always free—replaced by a Battle Pass and cosmetic Item Shop—these games stay fresh and populated much longer than before, and I foresee a great deal of Vanguard in my future, though I’m sure I’ll dip back into Cold War frequently as well.
