Blasphemous 2 is the second chapter in the Blasphemous series, a game developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Team17. The first chapter was released in 2019 and immediately found success thanks to its style combining pixel art with a dark and violent game world. With the success of the first game, originally launched as a Kickstarter in 2017, the team secured the opportunity to bring Blasphemous 2, released on 24 August 2023.
In Blasphemous 2, we continue to play as the Penitent One, following the events of the Wounds of Eventide free DLC for the first game. He is awakened by the prophecy of The Heart, which has proclaimed the return of The Miracle and the birth of a new progeny. Awakened once again from his slumber in a new land, the Penitent One must face hordes of fierce enemies and prevent the birth of this new Miracle Child. With an excellent port on Nintendo Switch offering the full experience without any hiccups.

Blasphemous 2 is a perfect title to play on the Switch. Performance is good, it’s a joy to play on controllers and easy enough to save the progress to get back at it at a later time. This price is more than fair for the amount and quality of content it provides. I’d recomment to play the first game before delving into this one though.
