Baldur’s Gate 3: The Craziest Mods Developers Want to See Next

October saw Patch 7 finally arriving on consoles. Larian’s team announces the new features and recommends some of the most fun and useful mods from the community for Baldur’s Gate.

Baldur’s Gate 3: The Community Mods Success with Patch 7

About a month after Patch 7’s launch on PC, Larian’s team celebrates its launch on consoles too. They announced that, in just a month, the community has created over 1,000 mods and reached over 15 million downloads. A major milestone for Baldur’s Gate 3, which now features a more user-friendly toolkit.

We’ve already seen some of the most useful mods in 2023, and to celebrate the official launch, the team released a fun video. An animated short created in collaboration with Spud Gun Studios. The amusing short pays tribute to the chaos created by modders, with references to various memes such as Indiana Jones, Handsome Squidward, Let Me Solo Her from Elden Ring, and many others.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Officially Install Mods

Patch 7 makes it much easier to install mods in Baldur’s Gate 3. It also allows mod installations on consoles, which will be tested and added manually. Accessing mods is very simple:

  • Just head to the Mod Manager section within the game.
  • Search for the Mod you want to add, with the ability to apply search filters.
  • Click on Download to download and add the Mod to the game.
  • You can enable/disable Mods by going to the Installed section. Remember that some Mods may affect your save files.

Baldur’s Gate 3 – Which Mods Does the Larian Team Recommend?

The Larian team, of course, wants to weigh in on the Mods created by the community. They selected 5 of the most useful or bizarre Mods available. Recommending:

  • Adjustable Party Limit (PixellBytes)

One of the community’s favorite Mods. Not only can you recruit a real party of up to 16 companions, but you can also customize their equipment. It even works in Multiplayer mode.

  • Underwear of Rituals (Xelphos)

A humorous Mod that adds the Gilded Chest of Ritualistic Underwear. A piece of underwear that grants unimaginable powers. Such as talking to the dead, reading minds, speaking with animals, and much more.

  • Underdark Dice (elliegreenart)

One of many mods that changes the theme of Baldur’s Gate 3 dice. A simple yet immersive mod that greatly enhances the RolePlay experience with D&D-themed Underdark dice.

  • Kuo-Toa Playable Race (Gonzalo_Marcos)

This mod adds the Kuo-Toa race to the selectable ones. One of the most peculiar non-playable races. Certainly not among the most noble, given their sadistic tendencies. But they’re definitely fun for an RP run.

  • Mystic Class (Xhevo)

This mod adds the new Mystic class to the existing 12. A class that is certainly very interesting for Sorcerer and Paladin builds, thanks to its subclasses and various options.

Patch 7 of BG 3 is a huge success for both Larian Studios and the community. Once again demonstrating how a passionate development team can bring a unique experience. Far removed from the negative attitude recently shown by some developers and publishers in the gaming industry.
