Leaks and rumors began to circulate the internet shortly before E3 2019, with Scarlett and Project Lockhart rumored to be the console’s development names.

Microsoft officially announced the Xbox Series X in August 2020 and released it on 10 November 2020.

The Xbox Series S was revealed in September 2020 and released in November alongside the Xbox Series X.
