The WWE 2K23 servers have shut down less than two after the game’s release, with 2K Games expected to announce WWE 2K25 in the coming months. The closing of the servers means all online functions are unavailable, including online matches and community creations.

WWE 2K23 has officially shut down as 2K Games takes its servers offline, with WWE 2K24 the only game in the franchise left with online functions. The long-running wrestling franchise will continue forward with the highly-anticipated WWE 2K25, which is expected by March 2025.

The end of WWE 2K23 comes less than two after its launch in March 2023, signalling a short life span for the games within the franchise. With the servers closing down, it means players can only play offline modes, and only if they already own the game as it was pulled from stores along with its DLC in November 2024.

2K Games pulled WWE 2K23 and its DLC from storefronts in November in preparation for servers closing down on January 6. Anyone who wants the game will no longer be able to purchase or download it, leaving them left with only WWE 2K24.

As part of closing down the servers, only offline modes are available, with players no longer able to play online, complete achievements, or create and download community creations. The closure of WWE 2K23 follows the removal of NBA 2K23 from storefronts last month, with 2K Games looking to officially reveal WWE 2K25 soon.

Expected before March 2025, WWE 2K25 will launch on next-gen hardware, promising enhanced visuals, an updated roster, and possible new features.
