Welcome to Brightville: The Official Announcement of the Immersive Sim
Surprisingly, on April 8, 2025, the Contrast Games team announced their first major project. They revealed Welcome to Brightville, an immersive action-adventure inspired by great classics like Bioshock and System Shock. It takes us to a dystopian universe where technology clashes with magic in a steampunk setting.
The game is scheduled for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2027. Accompanied by an announcement trailer that showcases an intriguing steampunk city inhabited by automatons. We will play as an automaton unaffected by the AI controlling the city, uncovering the mysteries of Brightville and the fate of its inhabitants.
Welcome to Brightville: What We Know About the Title
Developed on Unreal Engine 5, Welcome to Brightville presents itself as an immersive action-adventure. With a game world clearly inspired by Bioshock, but offering something unique in terms of style and gameplay. It offers:
- Immersive Adventure: A “mana-punk” world blending dark fantasy with a dystopian steampunk atmosphere. Intense combat and interactions with various characters.
- Gameplay and Interaction: We will have a lot of freedom in our approach, and our actions will reflect on the game world. Meeting unique NPCs with their own story that evolves based on our choices.
