In Wanderstop, you take on the role of Alta, a former fighter. After a traumatic experience, she seeks refuge in a magical tea house. There, she takes on the task of preparing tea for passing travelers and taking care of the tea house.

Wanderstop has been released today for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game’s director is Davey Wreden, the creator of Stanley Parable. Currently, you can get a 10% discount on the game on Steam until December 18.

Gameplay and Features

Wanderstop is all about making tea, and that’s exactly what you’ll be doing. To do this, Alta collects tea leaves from bushes outside the shop, lets them dry, and then processes them in a complex tea machine. You’ll need to operate multiple components of the machine to create the perfect tea for your guests.

In the game, you also have your own garden where you can grow tea and other plants. You must plant seeds in a hexagonal grid, and by combining different seeds, you can even create hybrids. These hybrids yield either more seeds or fruits, which can then be used for tea preparation.

Of course, you can also interact with the guests for whom you make tea. There are many different characters, each with their own unique story. By talking to them, you can learn more about their backgrounds and lives. This also gives you clues on how to create the perfect tea for them.

The tea house also needs to be maintained. It is important to keep the surroundings clean. Additionally, take care of weeds, water the plants, and decorate the interior to make everything even more beautiful and relaxing.

One of the most beautiful features is that Alta can sit on a bench with a cup of tea and reminisce. This allows you to gain insight into Alta’s past and understand why she chose to withdraw from the world. The ingredients you use for Alta’s tea determine which memories are triggered, so be sure to experiment with different combinations.

The game truly offers pure relaxation, and that’s the focus. There’s no money, no time pressure, no events, and no XP bar to grind through. You can simply unwind and take things slow in Wanderstop.

Music and Sound Design in Wanderstop

The music in Wanderstop was composed by Daniel Rosenfeld, better known as C418. He is best known for his work on Minecraft. The music dynamically adapts to the player’s actions and greatly enhances the calming atmosphere of the game. In the tea house, there is a radio with different stations offering various music styles.
