Trek to Yomi has finally launched on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One, and Devolver Digital has released a short trailer which highlights some interesting facts about the game.
About Trek to Yomi
Trek to Yomi is a cinematic samurai action-adventure game featuring the protagonist Hiroki. He’s a swordsman who swore to his dying master that he will protect the ones he loves as well as his town against all dangers.
Bound by his vow amidst a tragedy, he makes a heroic return to his town to fulfill the promise he failed to keep.

1. Developed by Leonard Menchiari and Flying Wild Hog
Trek to Yomi is created by Leonard Menchiari, director and writer behind The Eternal Castle, and Polish developer Flying Wild Hog which worked on Shadow Warrior 3 and more.
2. Single-player action-adventure
Play as the young swordsman Hiroki who sets off on a journey to confront those who destroyed his village.
3. Set in Edo Period Japan
Trek to Yomi is set in Japan during the Edo period. The developers combined Shinto mythology with historical Japan to create the game’s story and theme. The team worked with a Japanese historian to make the game’s dialogue appropriate for the period.
4. Estimated gameplay at 4 – 6 hours
Trek to Yomi was created to be a small-scale game, and game director Marcin Kryszpin revealed that players will be able to complete it in around 5 hours.
5. Three difficulty modes + one unlockable difficulty
Completing the game in any of the three main difficulty levels will unlock an extra difficulty where Hiroki will immediately die when hit.
6. Homage to legendary film director Akira Kurosawa
Trek to Yomi is inspired by classic samurai movies created by Akira Kurosawa. Additionally, its side-scrolling 2D gameplay was based on silent movies shown from the 1920’s until the 1930’s.
7. The game supports 4K and 60 FPS on Xbox Series X|S and PS5
Trek to Yomi was developed with current-gen consoles in mind as it supports 4K resolution at 60FPS on the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series.
