Nightdive Studios has officially announced during the MIX Spring Showcase that System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster will be launching for PC and consoles on June 26, 2025. While the reveal came as a bit of a shock, it was certainly a pleasant surprise for fans who have been eagerly waiting for a remastered version of the legendary survival horror RPG.

After years of speculation, delays, and uncertainty, it’s finally here, System Shock 2 is getting the remaster!

Instead, it seems Nightdive Studios had a bigger plan all along renaming the project to System Shock 2 25th Anniversary Remaster and aligning its launch with the game’s 25th anniversary. Beyond the trailer and official release date announcement, Nightdive Studios confirmed on X that multiplayer and co-op are actively in development. While they didn’t guarantee these features will be ready on launch day, they’re pushing hard to have them fully implemented in time.
