Streets of Rogue 2 Release Date


The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved roguelike, Streets of Rogue, is finally here. Streets of Rogue 2 offers players a massive, procedurally generated open world filled with endless possibilities for exploration and adventure.

From customizing your character to exploring diverse biomes and engaging in dynamic combat, Streets of Rogue 2 offers a fresh and exciting take on the roguelike genre. With its emphasis on player freedom and replayability, this game is sure to captivate fans of the original and newcomers alike.



When is Streets of Rogue 2 Release Date?

Streets of Rogue was such a success that a sequel was in order. And Matt Dabrowski heeded the call and made one. Well, making one.

Streets of Rogue 2 was initially set for an August 14 release which was then moved to October 22. But a week before the scheduled launch, Matt announced that it will further be delayed and will not set a date yet. Because the date was moved twice already, it does make sense to just give out a date when the game is more ready.

If it’s any consolation though, you can still play the game now, just not all of it.

Play Streets of Rogue 2 Now With Demo?

Initially, an open playtest was planned for the game. But after some consideration, Matt decided to release it as a demo instead. Either way, fans get to play the game (at least a sneak peak) and Matt can get valuable feedback for its Early Access release on Steam.

The Streets of Rogue 2 demo features a small piece of the game, of which contents may still not be included in the EA version or the full release. It is set on an island away from the main place where the game actually takes place. So in a way, this extra playable content.

While some demos only let you explore the game world, this one actually has a mission. And that’s to ultimately defeat the mayor. But of course, it isn’t linear so you can pursue other goals too.

To make the gameplay even more exciting (and more hours), you’ll have access to some character classes. This includes Chef, Soldier, and Cop. This way, you’ll have multiple angles and perspectives in tackling the game. On top of that, the world is randomly generated adding more excitement to every playthrough.


Streets of Rogue 2 Demo


Although the demo already sounds like a small full game, it will have further updates to it before the EA release. This includes controller support, mutators, and local co-op support. As for online multiplayer, that’s not in the plans for the demo.
