Focus Entertainment releases a new trailer to accompany the launch of the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, with a new chapter dedicated to the Space Marine faction after over 12 years since the first chapter. Boasting a launch that already received a great response both in terms of sales and feedback from the community.
The wait for Space Marine 2 is finally over, and to celebrate the launch, Focus Entertainment has released the Launch Trailer for the new chapter set in the world of Warhammer 40K. The 2nd installment in the series lets us play once again as the iconic Space Marine, in a new brutal yet fun action-packed third-person shooter. A chapter that arrives 13 years after the release of the first game, although Focus Entertainment gave us a taste of Space Marine-themed action with the fun Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, back in May of 2023.
Although only a few days have passed, Space Marine 2 is undoubtedly a huge success for developer Saber Interactive. In just 24 hours, the title managed to surpass numerous milestones. We’re talking about over 1 million copies sold and a peak of over 220,000 players on Steam. It has become the most successful game in the entire Warhammer game franchise and has ranked in the top 10 most-played games on Steam at the time of writing. Many players are thrilled to play this new Space Marine game, offering an impressive number of enemies and the option to play with friends.
We can certainly say that, at least in these early days, Space Marine 2 has made a big impact. This is great news for Saber Interactive, which recently became independent again after Embracer Group’s liquidation. Although there have been some initial criticisms, mainly due to the integration of Epic’s Online Services even for the Steam version (mostly to enable Cross Play between the two clients). And the team has already announced a patch for this week aimed at fixing issues like crashing, graphics, optimization, and server problems.
