Sonic Mania: Special Stages are Coming Back!

Sega has announced the comeback of the Special Stages through Sonic Mania during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Special Stages is a fan favorite in previously released 3D Sonic games.

Special Stages are a collection of hidden levels, and the objective of the game is for players to get a hold of one of six Chaos Emeralds. Collecting all six unlocks the game’s “true ending” – this is true for previous Sonic games, and whether it will also be the same for Sonic Mania is a question we still have.

Along with the announcement on Stages, Sega also revealed the game’s soundtrack during Comic-Con. You can listen to it through the video below:

Sonic Mania is scheduled to be released on 15 August 2017, and will be available on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
