The Interview with Motoi Okamoto on the Future of Silent Hill
As the year comes to an end, the team at 4Gamer.net interviewed numerous figures from the gaming world. Among them is Motoi Okamoto, the new producer of the Silent Hill series. The former Director of Analysis and Development at Nintendo discussed the strong success of Silent Hill 2.
Okamoto attributes this success partly to a new wave in the horror genre, citing, for example, the ARG of The Fourth Boundary, with an event he collaborated on. Confirming the development status of Silent Hill F and Townfall and promising to share more news in 2025.
What are Silent Hill F and Silent Hill Townfall?
Silent Hill F is the title under which Konami aimed to revive the Silent Hill series, but with a new setting. Announced in 2022 and developed by NeoBards Entertainment, it features a story set in 1960, specifically in rural Japan, moving away from Silent Hill’s original setting.
Little is known about Silent Hill Townfall, but it too was announced in 2022 alongside F as a spinoff. It seems to adopt an anthology style, developed in collaboration with talents from Annapurna. The team at No Code is working on this project. According to Motoi Okamoto, we can expect more details soon with 2025 just around the corner!

The difference between the new Silent Hill games and Silent Hill 2 remake is that the remake had a blueprint for Bloober Team to work off of. It worked because they chose to remain faithful but added their own thing. The new Silent Hill games will be done from scratch.. so yea, I would still be worried
