Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance – New Trailer & Pre-Orders Open Now
After enjoying a period of exclusivity on Nintendo Switch, SEGA has finally decided to bring Shin Megami Tensei V in the Vengeance version to all platforms. With an initial announcement of the game on 21st February 2024 and a release date that has been now anticipated. The new trailer, The Sacrifice, showcases some features of the new version, which also brings new story elements and opens pre-orders for the game.

The new trailer titled The Sacrifice showcases 3 minutes of gameplay content, introducing the main story and some of the new features of the Vengeance version. Initially released as an exclusive on Nintendo Switch on 12th November 2021, Shin Megami Tensei V is the fifth installment of the beloved Shin (New) Megami Tensei series, a turn-based JRPG that puts humanity at the center of the eternal conflict between demons and angels. In this fifth installment, we play as the Nahobino, a fusion between a Tokyo student and the spirit Aogami, with god-like powers. With Tokyo transformed into the parallel dimension of Da’at, teeming with supernatural beings, our task is to defeat them and decide the fate of humanity.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance brings many additions. Firstly, we have a significant bump in the graphical department, with high-definition textures and a 60fps framerate for the most performant platforms. But we also have improvements and tweaks to the gameplay, such as the ability to save anywhere, skip animations, and use the Auto-Battle feature for faster farming. Of course, there are also new story developments with a new route called the “Canon of Vengeance,” which diverges into a new story around halfway through the game. Not only will we have most of the base game’s DLC included in the Vengeance version, but we’ll also be introduced to a new mysterious heroine in the form of Yoko Hiromine, who will join the party and will likely have an impact on the new route.

With the new trailer and the recent Spotlight, we have a new release date for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Initially set for 21st June, 2024, there’s great news with the release being brought earlier by a week!
As a matter of fact, SMT V: Vengeance will be released on 14th June 2024, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Along with the brand-new trailer, Sega and Atlus also open pre-orders for the game with a physical edition that will receive a Steelbox and DLC with pre-orders for fans of physical editions. Fantastic news for fans of the series, and new players, who can now play the title in its definitive version and without platform restrictions!
