The Circle 5 team is back, finally promising the long awaited arrival of Primal Carnage: Evolution in 2025.

Primal Carnage: Evolution is the latest entry in the Primal Carnage series. A PvP shooter series where you can play as either soldiers or dinosaurs. With the first entry of the series released back in 2012 by the small studio at Lukewarm Media.

Circle 5 Studios took over with Extinction in 2015, earning praise for its overall fun gameplay. Featuring 12 dinosaur classes, various weapons for humans, and multiple game modes including PvE. Now, with the “recent” announcement of Primal Carnage: Evolution, to bring back the series.

Primal Carnage: Evolution Launching in 2025

On 28th September 2023, Circle 5 Studios announced Primal Carnage: Evolution, a true remaster of Primal Carnage: Extinction for PS4, with content and updates from the Steam version and more.

After a 2 years wait, with the beginning of 2025 the team reaffirms the promise of the remaster by the end of the year. This move aims to rejuvenate the game, attracting new players, and revitalize the community. Announcement with a touch of self- irony from the team.

Primal Carnage: Evolution – What This PlayStation Exclusive Offers

One point of confusion about Primal Carnage: Evolution (PCE) is its unclear positioning. Designed as a remaster, PCE is announced as a PlayStation exclusive, launching on PS4 with support for PS4 Pro and PS5. Evolution appears to be an upgraded and refined version of Extinction.

Boasting enhanced textures, 60FPS, higher resolutions for Pro and PS5, new weapons, abilities, and dinosaurs, plus improved controller support. Essentially, Primal Carnage: Evolution is a re-launch of Extinction on PS4, but lacking cross-platform functionality. We’ll see if Primal Carnage: Evolution will finally land in 2025 and the reception of this Remaster.
