Without much notice or fanfare, Nintendo quietly updated its policies, confirming that these vouchers will not be valid for Switch 2-exclusive titles.
Nintendo Switch Game Voucher Restriction for Switch 2 Exclusives
According to a report from Wario64’s X account, Nintendo has updated its Nintendo Switch Game Voucher FAQ page with the following statement “”Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 system.”.
This update comes at a time when Nintendo also recently announced the discontinuation of Gold Points in March 2025, further limiting purchasing options for digital content. The company has yet to provide an official explanation (or even an official announcement of the fact) as to why Switch 2-exclusive titles won’t be eligible for redemption with existing vouchers.
