Nintendo Switch 2 leaks continue, fueling rumors of the console’s design, hardware, and features. A reveal is expected this month, with some predicting this week. So far, Nintendo hasn’t confirmed any Switch details, except that it will be backward compatible, leaving gamers speculating on what’s to come.
Nintendo Switch 2 leaks continue to be posted online, teasing fans with a glimpse into Nintendo’s plans for its next console. Rumors suggest the Switch 2 could feature upgraded hardware, enhanced graphical abilities, and an all-new design.
If reports are true, Nintendo could reveal its upcoming hybrid console this month, with some rumors pointing towards a reveal this week. So, the only feature Nintendo has confirmed is the console’s backward compatibility with original Switch games.

Speculated Hardware Upgrades
The Switch 2 apparently has a similar design to the original Switch, with a Chinese website posting pictures of the console, reportedly captured from the factory manufacturing it. The images reveal a larger screen, possibly an 8-inch LCD screen, with USB-C ports on the top and bottom of the console.
Alongside the images were hardware specifications, revealing 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage capacity. A patent seen at the end of December shows Nintendo has implemented AI image upscaling capable of offering 4K textures on its small game cartridges.
While Nintendo has not confirmed the leaks, the gaming giant did confirm last year that the Switch 2 is backward compatible and will include Nintendo Switch Online.
Redesigned Joy-Cons and Improved Durability
One problem with the original Switch’s Joy-Cons was the drifting issues, something Nintendo wants to resolve by adding magnetic attachments. A recent leak suggests the Joy-Cons can be turned into a mouse, as the latest leaks show off a mouse-like optical sensor.
If the leaks and recent images are authentic, the Joy-Cons will also feature larger SL and SR buttons. The hope, though, and it looks the case, is that Nintendo has finally resolved the Joy-Con wear and drift issues.

Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal This Week
It was always expected that Nintendo would reveal its next console by March 2025, but we could see it sooner. With so many leaks, many hope Nintendo will accelerate plans and show off the Switch 2 in January. Some even predict a Nintendo Switch 2 reveal this week, possibly on Wednesday, January 8.
Regardless of when Nintendo officially unveils the Switch 2, it will be one of the major gaming announcements of 2025.
Conclusion
The Nintendo Switch 2 leaks continue to pour out with a reveal expected this month. If the rumored features materialize, the Nintendo Switch 2 could redefine the hybrid console market once again. Are you excited about the potential of the Switch 2? Share your thoughts below.
