Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is the remaster of the second chapter of the famous ninja-themed hack&slash by Koei Tecmo. Announced and made available from January 23, 2025, during the Xbox Developer Direct. On PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black – New Update Arrives
About 3 weeks after the launch, a new update arrives on Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. With an update for all platforms that adds some of the most requested features: the Photo Mode, along with New Game+.
Revealed just a few hours ago by Team Ninja, who also bring some balance adjustments and fixes to the game. A remaster with a modern look appreciated by fans, offering an action-packed game with numerous weapons and true ninja techniques.

A patch for all platforms that adds features such as allowing the transfer of weapons and Ninpo after clearing the game, makes adjustments and fixes bugs has been released.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black: New Patch Features
In particular, the new patch with version Ver 1.003.000 on Playstation and Ver 1.0.7.0 on Xbox and PC brings the following content:

- New Game+ : New Game+ mode with unlocked Ninpo and Weapons, but reset to Level 1.
- Photo Mode: Photo mode added in-game, accessible from the Options Menu.
- Projectile Weapon: Option to show or hide Projectile Weapons from the Game Settings Menu.
Balance Changes and Fixes
- Decreased enemy HP in chapters 8 and 13.
- Increased number of enemies in chapters 13 and 14.
- Buffed some of Ayane’s attacks.
- Fix for controller issues when playing above 120 fps or with a stressed CPU.
- Some bug fixes that allowed the player to exit the map or progress through the story.
- Fixed a bug that caused crashes during long gameplay sessions.
Conclusion
An update that finally brings Photo Mode and New Game+ to Ninja Gaiden 2 Black. Definitely welcome additions along with some small fixes for the remaster. Although some are hoping for further fixes for certain annoying issues.
There’s also hope for additional costumes for the shinobi Ryu Hayabusa and the heroines Momiji, Ayane, and Rachel. Hoping that the team will also bring the iconic Kasumi as a DLC.
