Masters of Albion is a single-player game that’s a mix of city-building and defending your town. During the day, you keep building up your town and take care of your residents. You control everything in this town, from what they eat to what they wear. If you want you can even feed them rats. You get to make the dishes yourself from the resources you have.
You can customize all the buildings in Masters of Albion too. Want a second floor? No problem. Don’t like the roof or the color? Just change it. But besides the mostly peaceful town life during the day, where you can also trade with other towns, night is completely different. I haven’t mentioned yet that the game is set in the well-known world of Albion from the Fable franchise. And most of you probably know that this world is full of different monsters.
At night, your job is to protect your village from all kinds of monsters. For that, you can build different defense structures in your town or hire heroes to fight for you. But the heroes have another perk. You can step out of your observer role and control your heroes yourself, fighting in third-person. But be careful, because you can die too. If that’s not enough, you can switch back to God Mode and defend your village with superpowers like a flamethrower.
You can upgrade your heroes by crafting new weapons, and you can get really creative with that. It’s even possible to use a loaf of bread as a blade, but whether that’s effective in battle is something you’ll have to figure out yourself.
Of course, the new gameplay trailer, which you can check out above, got everyone hyped for the game, and now the big question is, when will it finally come out? Unfortunately, there’s still no release date, not even a time frame. You can already add the game to your wishlist on Steam. Steam also says the game is “coming soon,” but we all know from other games that this “soon” could end up being a bit longer.
