Lushfoil Photography Sim is an exploratory photographic adventure created by Matt Newell and published by Annapurna Interactive. A project born in 2019 using Unreal Engine 4 and Megascan. It was created to share Matt’s passion for photography with an exploration-based adventure.

First presented as standalone versions on Itch.io, and later on Steam, with a demo released on June 10, 2024, followed by the release date announced in February 2025. Today marks the release date of Lushfoil Photography Sim. A project developed solely by Matt Newell for the past 6 years, aiming to share his passion for photography with the freedom of exploration in the gaming medium. Game available from April 15, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).

The release date was announced on February 24, 2025, accompanied by the Official Trailer. A journey through various world locations faithfully recreated and detailed. It offers us a virtual camera to capture and live a true photographic experience.

 

Lushfoil Photography Sim: Gameplay and Main Features

Lushfoil Photography Sim is a relaxing adventure through various world locations that are faithfully recreated. It’s not just a simple simulator but encourages exploration to unlock new features. Offering mainly:

  • Adventure through the world: With breathtaking landscapes faithfully recreated. From the beaches of South-West Australia to the Torii Gates of Kyoto, to the desolate landscapes of Iceland. Offering 10 unique and detailed locations, complete with fauna.
  • Capture every moment: Equipped with a virtual camera, we can capture every moment. With numerous options available for the camera, as well as environmental lighting. Some features can also be unlocked by following certain actions.
  • Well Optimized: Matt promises a well-optimized game despite the use of UE5 and impressive levels of detail. Capable of running on older systems while also utilizing the graphical power of PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and higher-performing PCs.

A true exploratory adventure through some of the world’s most enchanting landscapes. All through a photographic lens, with various functions to capture the most memorable moment. It also offers hidden areas and a few little secrets. Plus, Matt’s vision for the game, shared with the Epic Games team in a special interview.
