LUNAR is a series of RPG games developed by the Game Arts team, first released in 1992 on Sega CD. It debuted under the name Lunar: The Silver Star, followed by the sequel Eternal Blue in 1994. The series later received an enhanced version on Sega Saturn in 1996 and 1998, with ports to PlayStation as well.
The series takes us to a charming fantasy world, with The Silver Star following Alex, chosen to be the Dragonmaster and protector of the planet. Eternal Blue takes place around 1,000 years later, following the adventures of Hiro and the mysterious Lucia. LUNAR Remastered Collection: The New Story Trailer Ahead of Launch
After the release date reveal for the LUNAR Remastered Collection, the GungHo Online Entertainment team delights us with the Story Trailer. Released on April 5, 2025, it shows the beloved animations and character designs by Toshiyuki Kubooka, now remastered.
Introducing us to the story and world of Lunar, following Alex’s journey in The Silver Star, and Hiro and Lucia’s story in Eternal Blue. It also reminds us that the game is coming on April 18, 2025.

LUNAR Remastered Collection: What’s New in the Remaster
This Remastered version of Lunar includes the Complete Editions of The Silver Star and Eternal Blue, offering the full Lunar experience with new additions and improvements. These include:
- Remastered or Classic Experience: You can play Lunar with modernized visuals and sounds in 16:9, or relive the adventure with the classic 4:3 aspect ratio, including original cutscenes, effects, and audio. Also included is a CRT filter for a retro experience.
- Cutscenes and Voice Acting: The cutscenes have been visually remastered and voice acted, with an option to choose between English, Japanese, German, and French voiceovers.
- QoL Additions: New features improve the experience, such as the ability to speed up battles with Battle Speed, as well as shared inventory between characters. You can also customize CPU and character behaviors.
These additions improve the experience, making the Lunar series globally accessible. Offering the ideal and original versions of both chapters. This announcement, made at the end of September 2024, surprised many, and GungHo is calling on fans to share their memories!
