La Quimera Delayed on Launch Day by Former Metro Devs After Negative Reviews

La Quimera, the story-driven FPS from Reburn, formerly known as 4A Games Ukraine, the developer of the Metro series, has been delayed on launch day following negative reviews. The shooter is the rebranded studio’s first title, and the developer is yet to announce a new release date.

La Quimera Delayed on Launch Day by Former Metro Devs After Negative Reviews

Developed by a team of former 4A Games Ukraine developers, La Quimera is an intense, narrative-driven first-person shooter initially scheduled for release on April 25, 2025. However, following negative reviews, the game has been significantly delayed.

The game is Reburn’s debut title as an independent studio following its departure from 4A Games Ukraine and the legendary Metro series. So far, the developer has not given a new release date as the studio looks to address the game’s issues following feedback.

Why Was La Quimera Delayed?

La Quimera was due to launch on Steam on April 25 after only being announced in February of this year. However, following a lift on the game’s review embargo on release day, negative reviews poured in, prompting Reburn to postpone the game’s release.

Announcing the delay in its Discord and on Steam, Reburn co-founder and CEO Dmytro Lymar apologized to fans, stating the ongoing war in Ukraine and its first title as an independent studio has led to “unforeseen circumstances”.

What Was Said by the Developers?

Reburn’s gritty FPS is an ambitious project, and the developer has reacted to negative feedback before it launches La Quimera. Despite facing extreme challenges, the studio is listening to reviews and is looking to address issues, with excited fans being asked to wait.

In the Steam post regarding the game’s delay, the developer says it is “Hoping to resolve” technical issues and update its launch time soon. For now, Reburn is asking for patience.

Release Date

La Quimera does not currently have a new release date. When the shooter finally releases, it will do so on PC via Steam – hopefully soon.

The story-driven FPS is set in a dystopian Latin America, where groups of up to three face off against technology and robotic enemies across a beautifully crafted megalopolis. While no new release date has been confirmed, fans hope La Quimera’s delay will lead to a more polished and rewarding experience.

Conclusion

La Quimera, the new FPS from Reburn, the former devs at 4A Games Ukraine, has been delayed on launch day after the studio responded to negative reviews. What do you think about the delay? Is it a good move by the developer? Share your thoughts in the comments.
