King Arthur: Legion IX is a standalone spin-off chapter of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, the tactical RPG from the Hungarian team NeocoreGames, released on PC on April 26, 2022, and on consoles in 2024. An adventure that takes us into Arthurian mythology with a dark fantasy twist. With a classic turn-based tactical RPG, offering an interesting level of customization.

With an official announcement on April 14, 2025, the NeocoreGames team brings new exciting news. Announcing the arrival of King Arthur: Legion IX, their dark fantasy turn-based tactical RPG, also on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, available on consoles from April 26, 2025.

This comes with a cinematic trailer, where Tribune Gaius Julius Mento returns to life as commander of the undead of the IX Roman Legion, aiming to conquer Avalon and establish the eternal Roman kingdom. In a new exciting dark fantasy-themed tactical RPG campaign.

 

King Arthur: Legion IX – Gameplay, Features, and Settings on Console

King Arthur: Legion IX is a standalone chapter of King Arthur: Knight’s Tale, offering a Roman-themed campaign where we’ll lead the IX Legion of Roman undead to conquer Avalon. Offering:

  • Tactical RPG Adventure: A new adventure in the world of Avalon, leading the forces of Roman undead. In the form of a classic tactical RPG where we control a party of up to 6 heroes through 15 missions. All accompanied by choices with numerous consequences. And various difficulty levels for genre enthusiasts.
  • New Heroes and Abilities: The forces of the XI Legion will have 6 new heroes with new skills. Using Unique Skills, Ultimate Skills, and World Ability to gain the upper hand.
  • Expand Rome: To restore Rome, we’ll need to extend the capital with new buildings for our heroes. But we must also be cautious about available resources to maintain Nova Roma.

All this also comes with the reveal of console presets, offering the option to prioritize frame rate or graphic quality, with:

  • Quality Mode: Up to 4K on PS5 and Xbox Series X (not Series S)
  • Performance Mode: 1440p and improved frame rate on PS5, Xbox Series X, and S
