Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days is the new spin-off chapter of the series from the PikPok team. A New Zealand-based team that first introduced the series in 2012. A post-apocalyptic zombie-themed game series, particularly well-known on mobile devices.

With Our Darkest Days offering a new approach to the series, with a side-scrolling game first announced in December 2022. And a very first demo released just in time for Halloween, on October 28, 2024. The game will finally debut in Early Access on PC. Following the announcement on March 20, the PikPok team is finally ready to launch Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days. The new spin-off chapter of the series takes us to 1980s Texas. The adventure will be available on:

• April 9, 2025 at 3:00 pm PDT / 6:00 pm EDT
• April 10, 2025 at 00:00 CEST / 8:00 am AEST

The game will debut in Early Access after nearly 3 years of development since the first announcement in late 2022. It has already garnered strong interest from the community, with 500,000 wishlist entries on Steam, thanks to good initial feedback from the game demo.

Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days – Gameplay, Features, and Roadmap

Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days offers a survival side-scroller adventure where we must survive a zombie outbreak. The game offers:

• The Plan: We must guide a group of survivors, keeping them safe while managing factors like Hunger, Fatigue, and Desperation.
• Explore and Interact: Explore what remains of Walton City in search of valuable resources. Choose whether to confront enemies or flee. Also, decide the fate of survivors by adding new members or eliminating them for resources.
• Survive: Experience a constantly changing world. Decide the fate of various characters and create or upgrade weapons, tools, and shelters to face hordes of zombies.

The PikPok team has shared the game’s roadmap, revealing that they plan to release a major update every 6-8 weeks. Development seems to extend until late 2026. The first May update has already been announced, and it includes:

• Curveballs: World events that impact your shelter.
• Zombified Survivors: Encounter the zombies of your deceased survivors.
• Throwable Items: New throwable items, including explosives, deadly weapons, and distractions.
