Ghost of Yōtei, the Ghost of Tsushima Sequel Revealed

Ghost of Yōtei is the Ghost of Tsushima sequel. Sucker Punch’s upcoming action RPG follows Atsu, a new hero. It will release in 2025 on the PS5 and a PC release is likely to follow soon after.

Ghost of Yōtei is the much-anticipated sequel to Sucker Punch Productions’ epic Ghost of Tsushima. First released in 2020 on the PS4 and PS5, the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut recently launched on PC and currently sits on a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.

Set for release in 2025 on PS5, the upcoming Ghost of Yōtei was announced by Sony and Sucker Punch during the recent PlayStation State of Play. The sequel follows a new hero but builds on the same successful features that Ghost of Tsushima popular.

First look at Ghost of Yōtei, the anticipated Tsushima sequel

Ghost of Yōtei is set 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima in the areas surrounding Mount Yōtei and follows Atsu. Sucker Punch’s determination to create something fresh sees the developer tell a new legend around a new hero wearing a Ghost mask.

Built from the ground up for the PS5, Ghost of Yōtei builds on the original game, offering incredible sightlines, new skies with blinking stars and auroras, and a landscape that shifts with the wind. In a PlayStation blog post, Sucker Punch Senior Communications Manager Andrew Goldfarb promises “new mechanics, gameplay improvements, and new weapons.” The Ghost of Yōtei announcement trailer gives us a glimpse of the visually stunning experience we’re in for when it releases in 2025.

Ghost of Tsushima Sequel Announced

Ghost of Yōtei is expected in 2025 and will be exclusively available on Sony’s PlayStation 5. PC players can be confident of a PC release in the future, as Sony has a recent history of releasing PlayStation exclusives on PC. Ghost of Tsushima first launched on PS4 and PS5 in 2020 and later on PC in 2024. If we follow Ghost of Tsushima’s release dates, PC players could play Ghost of Yōtei in 2029.
