Fallout 4 VR is the full Fallout 4 game itself, but in VR form, and with added features. It’s a completely standalone game, so you won’t need to get yourselves a Season Pass, or a Special Edition in order to play it. Instead, you would need to purchase an HTC Vive in order to play the game.

What’s new in the game is an all-new combat, crafting, and building systems which were fully reimagined especially for virtual reality. Bethesda also mentioned that it will also include hundreds of locations, quests, and characters.

Also one of the biggest changes is the V.A.T.S. aiming system. In VR, V.A.T.S. lets you activate some sort of a “slow-motion mode” that you can move around in. In the PC version, you would need to enter a selection screen in order to determine your shot. The game’s lead producer, Andrew Scharf, explained that it feels like you’re Quicksilver in X-MEN when you use V.A.T.S.

“Feeling like you’re physically in the world of Fallout 4 by playing in VR is an amazing experience, all the way up to the sad moment when you remove the headset and realize there is no V.A.T.S. in real life,” added Scharf.
