Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test registration starts! Here is where to signup, what you need, and where to play
FromSoftware previously announced a network test for Elden Ring Nightreign, an upcoming cooperative survival action game and spinoff of the original Elden Ring. The network test is set to take place sometime in February 2025, with registration opening from January 10 to January 20, 2025.
Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be eligible to participate, while those on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will not have access during this phase, unfortunately. It is important to note though that the game will still release on these platforms, just not the network test.
This is also the case for PC: no network test but will get the full game. This isn’t much of a surprise though (not like the exclusion of older-gen consoles) since previous network tests hosted by FromSoftware for Bloodborne, Dark Souls, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice also did not include PC. While there is no definite reason released by the company, most players suggest that it’s because of the possibility of data-mining.
Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test Registration
The network test will allow only selected players to experience a portion of the game, including its gameplay mechanics, classes, and cooperative combat system. Since the multiplayer is in play, players can team up with up to three others to explore the game world and this particular feature, focusing on server connectivity and performance.
The test aims to evaluate server load, multiplayer functionality, and game balance. As like any other tests, participants are expected to provide valuable feedback on bugs and technical issues.
Applications can be submitted via the official website, and participants will need a valid email address to apply. In the application form, players will have to indicate if playing on PS5 or Xbox Series. The selected gamers will be notified by email in February with the full details including the test date. A product code will also be given to download the Network Test version.
If basing on previous Elden Ring network tests, there could also be five 3-hour test sessions for Nightreign. So although a limited number of gamers will be selected, there is more than one opportunity to play.
Elden Ring Nightreign promises to deliver a fresh experience with new characters and gameplay elements while retaining the immersive world and depth of the original game. The full release is planned for later in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
