Edge of Eternity System Requirements Revealed

Sad to admit but there’s still a huge lack of JRPGs on PC. It’s been getting better in recent years, but PC is still not a platform of choice for JRPG developers. So, whenever we hear about a game from the said genre announced for PC, we always get excited.

Take Edge of Eternity for example. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Midgar Studio’s entry in the JRPG space, but now the devs have finally set up the game’s Steam page, giving us a look at some screenshots and the game’s preliminary system requirements.

Edge of Eternity mixes up the classic JRPG formula with innovative gameplay mechanics that should give players a unique experience. The game puts heavy emphasis on its battle system which employs turn-based ATB combined with tactical positioning on a combat grid. The system also allows for various interactions with the environment that provide more tactical options.

As for the narrative, the story is a mixture of classic fantasy combined with the atmosphere of a space opera. Players will be taken to the planet Heryon. There they’ll discover a huge open world filled with exotic environments, dungeons and cities. Players will be taking charge or a team of characters plunged into a devastating war between Heryon’s inhabitants and mysterious invaders from space.

Edge of Eternity has no definite release date yet, although the devs are teasing some major announcements in the upcoming Gamescom next month.
