Drug Dealer Simulator publisher Movie Games SA has said it is investigating whether to bring legal action against Schedule I for copyright infringement, resulting in a mass review bombing campaign by gamers.

Drug Dealer Simulator and Drug Dealer Simulator 2 are facing a wave of negative reviews on Steam after reports surfaced that publisher Movie Games SA is looking at their options regarding “potential infringement” of copyright against Schedule I.
Both games are about building a drug empire from humble beginnings. Although Movie Games SA hasn’t taken action against Schedule I developer TVGS, players have not taken kindly to suggestions of a possible lawsuit.
Why Is Drug Dealer Simulator Being Review Bombed?
Schedule I launched on March 24, 2025, and has since become a massively popular game on Steam. But, its success seems to have gotten to Movie Games SA, who is reportedly “investigating” Schedule I for infringing on their IP.
Players have responded by review bombing both Drug Dealer Simulator and Drug Dealer Simulator 2, with one Steam user calling Movie Games “pathetic.”
The news first came from the Polish site PAP Biznes, which said Movie Games was looking into Schedule I, including the game’s plot, mechanics, and UI.
Players have swamped the Drug Dealer Simulator franchise with negative reviews, with 1,571 negative reviews on Drug Dealer Simulator coming on April 1 and 876 negative reviews on Drug Dealer Simulator 2 on April 3. Both games continue to be hit with negative reviews, with recent reviews for both now “Overwhelmingly Negative.”

What Is the Dispute With Schedule I?
Movie Games’ head of marketing Michał Puczyński has told fans in a statement on Discord that the company has requested a “legal analysis from an intellectual property specialist” following claims that Schedule I is similar to Drug Dealer Simulator.
No legal action has been taken so far and Puczyński says they are not looking to stop Schedule I from being sold, but that they must “consider” their legal obligations if the law specialists determine there are grounds to claim infringement.
How It’s Impacting the Games’ Reputation
Drug Dealer Simulator 2 currently has a “Mixed” rating from users on Steam, while the original Drug Dealer Simulator is rated “Mostly Positive.” If players continue to leave negative reviews, it is likely that both games will receive lower ratings, which could impact their visibility on the Steam store and future sales.
This review bombing serves as a clear signal from players expressing their dissatisfaction with Movie Games’ strategic decisions. In contrast, the game Schedule I is rated “Overwhelmingly Positive.”
Conclusion
Schedule I continues to soar in the Steam charts as Drug Dealer Simulator publisher Movie Games SA considers legal proceedings for potential copyright infringement. Do you think Movie Games is making the right call? Share your thoughts in the comments.
