DMZ: Nuclear Survival is an open-world survival and crafting game by Wild Dog Inc. A development team of two based in Saitama, Japan. This is their debut game.
With a game that conveys the team’s passion for open-world survival games. Offering a first-person experience with survival components in procedurally generated maps. It’s like a mix of DayZ, Rust, Stalker with a touch of Metal Gear Solid humor. Among the highlights of the Indie Live Expo 2025, held on April 13th, was the reveal of DMZ: Nuclear Survival. A post-apocalyptic-themed open-world survival game by a small two-person indie studio. The game takes us to the supercontinent of Pangea, with an experience designed around the player.
Offering a strong crafting component in procedurally generated maps. Players can choose to play PvP, but also have solo experiences. Accompanied by a high-action game trailer filled with activities to do. But with a definitely quirky touch.
DMZ: Nuclear Survival – Main Features and Gameplay
DMZ: Nuclear Survival is certainly an ambitious title from the Saitama duo. Offering a strong survival crafting experience in a post-apocalyptic world. An ambitious project that offers:
- Post-Apocalyptic World: A post-apocalyptic world set in the supercontinent of Pangea. Players will be able to dig for artifacts and remnants of ancient civilizations. With powerful items and even the ability to bring back powerful fighters. In a procedurally generated world.
- Resources and Crafting: One of the game’s core mechanics will be digging the terrain. Players will have various tools to not only find valuable resources but also create bases. Featuring a robust crafting system, NPCs will be recruited for tasks within our bases. Also, training and enhancing our companions.
- Combat: FPS-style combat, where we can create teams of up to 3 NPCs. Players can issue commands to them during battles. And create the perfect team by crafting builds with available perks and skills.
- Multiplayer: A procedurally generated game world with up to 100 players in PvP mode. Players will also have the option to create private servers with friends or play solo offline. Still offering a full game experience.
All built on Unreal Engine 5, but focusing more on fun gameplay than graphics. The game will debut in Early Access on Steam, with updates aimed at expanding the base experience. Expect new biomes, NPC enhancements, and new technologies to unlock.
