The new Diablo II: Resurrected trailer, which you can watch above, shows off the impressive visuals that the series is known for and sets the story that will see you track the Dark Wanderer across Sanctuary.
Blizzard has not just updated the graphics of Diablo II, but also simplified it into a more modern game.
In a recent blog post on battle.net, Design Director Robert Gallerani revealed that they had worked hard to ensure that playing offline and online play is smooth.
In the post, Gallerani stated that the original was too confusing for new players, as it featured Single-player, Gateway, and Multiplayer modes.
This resulted in players creating characters and jumping into offline mode before joining their friends online, but they couldn’t do this with an offline character.
Blizzard wanted to change that, so now, players can create their character and jump straight into Sanctuary, with the choice of playing online or offline a simplified one.
The simplification of online lobbies extends to searching for a game, as more modern techniques make it possible to make it more streamlined.
Instead of exchanging lobby information, you can now search for parties that want to do the same activity as you, meaning console players can easily find games without friends.
