Overview: Release, Developer, and Platforms
Deadzone: Rogue launches today on April 29, 2025, at 8:00 PM UTC on PC via Steam and Epic Games. The game is developed and published by Prophecy Games. It is launching first in Early Access, so not everything will be perfect at release. Still, more than 100,000 players have already added it to their wishlists. The game will continue to evolve and improve over time with the help of the community.
Fight, Loot, Survive: How Deadzone: Rogue Gameplay Works
In Deadzone: Rogue, you wake up aboard the ISS-X with no memory of who you are. But one thing is clear — the rogue machines coming your way are not your friends. You’ll need to fight through hordes of enemies while scavenging rare weapons and augments to upgrade yourself.
At launch, there are over 30 powerful weapons for you to find and master. Every weapon can be enhanced with elemental attachments and upgrades. For example, you can turn a shotgun into a mass destroyer or a submachine gun into a freezing ice weapon. From plasma cannons to sniper rifles, you’re sure to find a weapon that matches your playstyle.
During combat, you’ll collect dozens of upgrades, perks, and items to help you during your run. These vary greatly — some boost your damage output, others help you stay hidden, and others make you stronger in melee combat. Since upgrades are randomly generated, you’ll have to adapt each time and can experiment with different builds.

And even after a run ends, you can continue to grow stronger — it is a roguelite, after all. You can unlock permanent upgrades like stronger shields, more elemental damage, and much more, customizing your build to match your playstyle.
Enemies, Boss Fights, and Tactical Challenges
In the game, you’ll battle through large hordes of enemies, encountering a variety of different enemy types — from drones and robotic spiders to much more. Every enemy type has its own strengths and weaknesses.
At the end of each zone, you’ll face a boss and sometimes mini-bosses. Bosses often have multiple phases, and to defeat them, you’ll need quick reflexes and solid strategy.

Each fight starts with you in stealth mode. This lets you scout enemies and plan your attack. You can spot explosive barrels and good cover spots in advance — especially useful when playing Deadzone: Rogue in co-op mode. You’ll have time to coordinate your strategy with your team.
You can play Deadzone: Rogue solo or co-op with up to 3 players. You can mark enemies for your team, focus on high-priority targets, and set the difficulty level for each mission. Play Deadzone: Rogue as chill or as hardcore as you like, with everything from casual adventure mode to nightmare difficulty.
