Crysis Remastered to Launch This Summer
According to a leak which was then followed by a confirmation by developer Crytek, Crysis Remastered will be launching by the summer of this year.
Yesterday a Crysis Remastered website went live but it was taken down immediately. It contained some game artwork as well as a post saying “Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware – and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch”.
An official trailer had been launched as well which you can watch below:
Crytek CEO Avni Yerli said that, “We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game,” he further adds, “it’s an exciting opportunity to be able to bring Crysis back to PCs and current consoles – even Nintendo Switch! -so that a whole new generation of players can experience the thrill of battle in the Nanosuit!”
The original Crysis game launched in 2007, back then it had been one of the most ambitious shooter games around. The game had been demanding power-wise so we are intrigued to see what the remaster will bring, especially for the Nintendo Switch.
Crytek shares more information about the game by posting, “Crysis Remastered will focus on the original game’s single-player campaigns and is slated to contain high-quality textures and improved art assets, an HD texture pack, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping, particle effects will also be added where applicable…Further additions such as volumetric fog and shafts of light, software-based ray tracing, and screen space reflections provide the game with a major visual upgrade.”
We can expect Crysis Remastered by summer of this year for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
