About The Ascent

The Ascent is a new solo and cooperative action-shooter RPG set in a dystopian cyberpunk future. Ascent is a huge corporation that owns absolutely almost everyone, including you. For many years, the corporation has been functioning in its normal operations, until one day, the Ascent Group shuts down for unknown reasons and everything in your district is in chaos. Everything is owned by the corporation, without them, everything seems to be crumbling down to ashes. Jump on a mysterious mission and find out the truth behind this catastrophe. Will you be able to survive?

I thought a lot about other games while playing “The Ascent,” and this time, it’s a great thing. The game has a lineage and influences. It reminds me of old times.

Despite some of the more minor issues listed above, there was very little that was able to pull me away from The Ascent in the past week or so that I’ve been playing, and its certainly a game I?d like to revisit post launch with a fresh character so I can toy around with different builds and loadouts a bit more. Again, it’s an absolute no-brainer if you’re a Game Pass subscriber on Xbox, but even if you’re looking to purchase the game outright, it’s worth checking out.
