Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is the definitive way to experience SMTV. The new story is much more interesting and makes a perfect entry point for Persona fans, though it does miss out on some important plot points. The tweaks to combat make things feel that much tighter and strategic. With new bosses that even veterans will struggle with, Vengeance feels like an entirely new game.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a stellar example of an enhanced re-release done right. Its comprehensive approach to improving the story and various gameplay systems of the original release makes for an experience that’s even more engrossing than the already excellent original game.

This is a great companion piece to the story they got to tell, exploring the ideologies of the cast further in fascinating ways that change up a lot of dynamics. It really does feel like they addressed most of the common complaints with the original, while not losing sight of the general tone that the fans appreciated. I’m left overwhelmed by all the little new things they added on top of the Shin Megami Tensei V I already loved.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance Mitama Dance of EXP

This DLC increases the spawn rate of two types of demons:

• Kushi Mitama: These demons drop items that grant EXP to the protagonist.
• Ara Mitama: These demons drop items that grant EXP to ally demons (demonic allies).

Even without the DLC, there’s still a chance of these demons appearing, though it’s low. You can adjust the spawn rate at any time in the game’s Options menu.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance Mitama Dance of Miracles

Get more “Nigi Mitama” spawns with this DLC, helping you collect glory items for new miracles. Without the DLC, they appear rarely. You can alter the spawn rate anytime in the Options menu. This is only for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and not compatible with Shin Megami Tensei V.
