The Scars Above is a challenging third-person sci-fi action-adventure shooter developed by Mad Head Games, step into the shoes of Dr. Kate a scientist of The Sentient Contact Assessment and Response Team (SCAR) as she and a team of scientists and engineers investigate a colossal enigmatic alien structure humanity has dubbed “The Metahedron” that recently appeared in earth’s orbit. Things don’t go exactly as planned however as the team of scientists is hauled across space onto a mysterious extrasolar planet. You wake up dazed, confused, and alone in a strange hostile environment determined to survive you set out to find out what happened to the rest of the team and unravel the mystery of what happened exactly.

• While Kate is not a soldier, she is an accomplished astronaut and scientist resourcefulness is built into her DNA, and she is determined to survive and use a combination of ranged weapons, devices, consumables, and melee attacks in order to defeat her enemies and exploit their weak points.
• Inspired by sci-fi classics immerse yourself in a carefully crafted alien world filled with countless threats, gorgeous landscapes, and ruins hinting of at ancient yet advanced civilizations that have somehow disappeared. Explore biomes such as marshlands, freezing wastelands, underground caverns, and alien facilities all with their set of challenges, enemies, and hazards.
• You will need to use your scientific expertise to extract information from your surroundings, and scan artifacts, materials, and creatures in order to learn more about their features, properties, and weaknesses. The knowledge you gain will also allow you to craft new gadgets and unlock abilities in Xenobiology and Engineering trees.

The scars Above are AA game designs at their absolute best. A tight Sci/fi adventure that is perfectly paced and entertaining from start to finish. Proof positive that a smaller, tighter scope is often a wiser road to success in the world of video games.

Scars Above seem to have borrowed traits from several games that all combine well to make Scars Above and enjoyable experience. This mixture of simple puzzle-solving and light combat may not suit everyone, but I certainly enjoyed crafting weapons and gadgets that helped bring down the Custodian.
