Raven’s Cry is an action–adventure RPG developed by Reality Pump and published by TopWare Interactive. The game’s story interweaves historical events and characters with fictional ones, and is set in 18th century Caribbean.
Raven’s Cry follows the story of Christopher Raven, a survivor of a pirate attack, who’s also on a journey to seek revenge against a pirate known as Neville Scranton, and those other pirates who took part in the massacre that killed the people he loved. Christopher lost a hand and is now replaced by a hook, and alongside him is also a raven familiar which helps him scout for enemies.
The game features beautiful cut scenes which brings players a peek on Christopher’s life-long quest. It also features an open world map of the Caribbean which allows you to go on adventures, take on activities, complete quests and discover secrets that are waiting to be revealed.
Your actions will also influence your enemies’ fighting styles and habits, giving a more realistic feel of your surroundings. Christopher also has unique and complex skill trees both for land and sea and are affected by his notoriety level. Your very own raven also gets its own skills so it can not only fly around, but also take an active role in your journey.
When it comes to combat, Raven’s Cry has a challenging combat system based on classic hack’n’slash action along with tactical free-flowing combat such as blocking, countering, parrying, and finishing moves. The game also brings the 18th century Caribbean to life with its historically accurate weapons and ships. And with this being a pirate-themed game, naval battles are of course included, complete with a myriad of ships and multiple ammos.
