Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an open world action-adventure RPG where you fight through Mordor and uncover the truth that compels you developed by Monolith Productions, discover the origins of the Ring of Power built your legend and ultimately confront the evil of Sauron in this new chapter of the of the story of Middle-earth.

• Set in a fully open world it features various role-playing elements such as the wraith abilities giving him an edge on the battlefield slowing down time and many more. Complete various abilities like killing a high ranking Uruk or turning them into sleeper agents via the domination ability.
• Upgrade Talion’s arsenal using runes giving them unique bonuses such as health regeneration when you kill enemies and many more. Obtain these runes by killing enemy captains.
• The Nemesis system allows players to face unique individuals differentiated by their personality, strength, and weaknesses. Every enemy in the game has their own name, rank, and memory. These enemies can be shaped by their encounters with the player to create personal arch-enemies who are unique to every gameplay session.

Reviews

Shadow of Mordor is going to give other developers in this genre a lot to think about. This would be a perfectly competent open-world game even without the dynamic AI, but that one system works so well that it makes you feel like you’re having a tailored game experience that’s unique to you and your actions. That’s a powerful feeling, and I hope it’s one similar games make the same effort to replicate in the future.

That may sound hyperbolic, and true, Shadows of Mordor isn’t perfect by any means. But right now, it’s my main contender for game of the year, simply because, in its lack of pretension, its attention to detail and its understanding that video games first and foremost should be fun, it puts everything else I’ve played recently in its long shadow.
