Loop8: Summer of Gods is a coming-of-age RPG, developed by Marvelous Inc. set in the 1980s in the rural Japanese town of Ashihara, step into the shoes of Nini a student who has recently moved into the town with a mysterious ability to loop time, face off against monsters called Kegai in turn-based battles where the outcomes depended on the relationships you have built and the decisions you have made. Make use of Nini’s special ability to loop you and your allies to relive the 8th month over and over again until they got it right.

Loop8: Summer of Gods is a delightful visual novel with decent RPG mechanics that’s let down greatly by repetition and below-par battling. Training, having fun chats with the intriguing characters, and doing a spot of detective work is fairly enjoyable while traversing the lovely town, however, it generally goes downhill in regard to the other features. The looping idea ends up draining the enjoyment out of conversations and the battling is incredibly lackluster after all the time spent building up to every encounter.
