About Grit and Valor – 1949

Grit and Valor – 1949 is a diesel punk themed real-time tactics rogue-lite set during an alternate history WW2 that never ended, developed by Milky Tea Studios Europe, is on its knees, deadly axis mechs patrol the landscape, intimidating the populace and flushing out the rebels. Survivors are few but have regrouped under a new flag of resistance. You and your rebels are the free world’s last hope as your team delivers a devastating EMP weapon into the heart of enemy territory in hopes of turning the tide of war.

• Deploy your mech squad and command them in real time, fending off waves of enemies, with every new battlefield representing a new challenge with unique combinations of adversaries and terrain. Think fast to use higher ground/cover, exploit armor weaknesses, and utilize every kind of tactical advantage to withstand the assault.
• Your tactics may be sound, but if you reach the end of your run, you will need to face off against a menacing Axis general. Facing overwhelming odds, wave upon wave of enemies, new hazards, and Kaiju-sized boss mechs.
• If your command vehicle is destroyed, your mission is over. Regroup at the resistance base, rebuild and upgrade your squad and try again. The Scrap and Valor you earn in the field can be used to upgrade Mechs and level up Pilot abilities. But prepare for the unexpected; the battlefields, enemies you face, and any rewards you receive, will never be the same twice.

It’s at once satisfying to see my mech’s stats doubled or tripled, and frustrating to know I never had a chance previously. That pursuit of power is going to be like catnip for some, watching as previously unbeatable challenges crumble, but I’d have been more smitten with Grit and Valor if it rewarded tactics over tenacity.
