15 Games You Shouldn’t Have Missed in 2023
11 months ago | Gaming News The year is ending, and it’s been an incredible year for video games. We’ve been treated to some cracking first-person shooters, RPGs, adventure games, indie games, horrors, and survival games. Join us as we look at 15 games you shouldn’t have missed in 2023.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is an action title in third person with mechs and developed by FromSoftware. Combat will often take place in massive areas and you’ll have a vast array of tools to deal with enemies and to traverse the scene. Mechs can be be customized in different ways that change the attacks and movement to suit different playstyles. Like many other games from this developer, Armored Core VI will have thrilling boss battles that will require learning their attack patterns and react accordingly to emerge victorious.
It’s going to be an exciting time behind the scenes. Fires of Rubicon is the name of the next Armored Core, coming 10 years after Verdict Day, which disappointed us a little on PS3. From Software comes a new game set in an industrial environment. Large metal buildings, including a mobile foundry housing a boss (gameplay demonstration video) and other factories of all kinds, will be our playground. Mobility is the name of the game: dodging followed by dash to get to close combat, thrusters, boosts… You can customize your mecha as you wish, to reinforce its defenses, arsenal and firepower. Of course, the RPG aspect is always present. Hand-to-hand combat is given greater prominence than in previous opuses, complementing our firepower. Technically, this bodes well for the future, but on old gen, we may have our doubts, at least on Xbox One Fat and Slim, except that From Software is the kind of company that optimizes its games well. We’re eagerly awaiting this AAA game, and there’s no reason to think it won’t be there to stir up trouble and win the GOTY alongside Zelda, for example.
