Certainly undeniable is the role that Call of Duty had during the recent Xbox Games Showcase on 9th June 2024. A showcase that gave ample space to the new chapter in the series with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and even a dedicated Direct.
When Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is Coming
One thing is clear from the CoD Black Ops 6 showcase, and that is the release date. The release date is set for 26th October 2024, which is slightly earlier than the usual November period. Especially considering the Beta Access planned for the coming months.
The showcase presented us with an enthusiastic team explaining the new ideas they have implemented. As always, the campaign returns, continuing the Cold War storyline. A storyline that blends fictional elements with aspects borrowed from real events. Moving on to gameplay changes, where player movement seems to have been adjusted for more freedom, and of course, the visual and stylistic side for even more immersive gameplay. Concluding with the indispensable Multiplayer, which will receive a dedicated showcase, and a stronger than ever return of the Zombie mode.
What We Know About Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
After the showcase, the Activision team certainly did not sit idle and released further in-depth news on the official Call of Duty Blog. Regarding the Campaign, we will continue the story from Cold War, moving towards the early 90s, also referencing those flashbacks to the 80s we witnessed in Black Ops 2. Frank Woods will return, along with his protégé, and both will be caught in a spiral of intrigues, leading them to assemble a team of rogue agents. With missions set in various locations and situations, along with interactions that will also reflect within the team interactions during the campaign.
The Multiplayer aspect is also evolving, with a movement system the team describes as 360°, allowing you to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction. Essentially evolving some of the aspects already proposed in the past, but with a new movement system that will certainly have a strong impact on the gameplay, making it even more adrenaline-fueled. The Zombie mode also evolves, continuing with a new story following the one started in Cold War for a chilling but above all fun experience! Finally, with all the slew of news, the team has also opened pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will be released on 25th October 2024, on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, also reminding of the upcoming Beta for the multiplayer in the coming months.
