Beyond Good & Evil 2 – Trailer | Story | Release Date

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a prequel to the 2003 action-adventure Beyond Good & Evil. The game is a shared-world/MMO experience set in a large galaxy where players are space pirates.

A full 15 years after Beyond Good & Evil’s release, the cult action-adventure is finally getting a sequel.

To the surprise of many fans, Beyond Good & Evil 2 initially took place before Jade, the heroine from the first game, was born. However, later, Ubisoft stated that “a ferocious Jade will appear in the game’s storyline.”

WHAT KIND OF GAME IS BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL 2?

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is an action-adventure game set in an open-world environment and has a little more focus on traditional RPG elements than the original game.

Players will begin at the bottom of the social system and must work their way up through society.

It can be played single-player or cooperatively with a friend and will have a shared universe with events affecting all players simultaneously.

Players can explore planets, and recruit new members for their crew, and upgrade their spacecraft. The choices players make on those planets can affect the story.

Unlike in the first game, in Beyond Good and Evil 2, players can create a character. Players can choose between multiple species and whether they want to be male or female or human-animal hybrids.

WHAT IS BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL 2’S STORY ABOUT?

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is set in the same universe as the original, but events take place several generations before Jade and her companions’ adventures.

The story is written by Gabrielle Shrager, writer on Rayman Origins, Rabbids Go Home, and Valiant Hearts: The Great War.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 follows the crew of the pirate ship, Gada. Michel Ancel, the game’s director, describes the game as “something quite different” compared to the first.

What we do know is that the game takes place at a time when human-animal hybrids are rising and fighting back against being used and sold as slaves.
