The final major update, Patch 8, for Baldur’s Gate 3, will release for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC on April 15, 2025, after months of stress testing by players.
Patch 8 is the long-awaited content update for BG3, introducing all-new subclasses and featuring 48 pages of patch notes as the developer officially moves on to its next project.
What’s in Patch 8?
The highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate Patch 8 will 12 new subclasses to the already 12 classes and 36 subclasses, making the total subclass count 46.
While most are looking forward to beginning the game anew with the new subclasses, there are hundreds of new fixes, changes, and features, including all-new cinematics, animations, redesigned UI, spells, reworked dialogue, and new character customization options. Why It’s the Final Major Update
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been a massive success since it released in August 2023, winning Game of the Year and earning a 96 score on Metacritic. But that hasn’t stopped developer Larian Studios from moving away from the franchise early last year, revealing plans to begin a new adventure and take on new challenges.
