With two weeks remaining until the release of Atomfall, the Rebellion team has given us an exciting new gameplay showcase, this time highlighting the Casterfell Woods as seen by a more experienced player!
Atomfall is Rebellion’s upcoming first-person survival adventure. Set in an alternate 1962 England, five years after the Windscale Fire, it introduces a quarantined region.
The protagonist awakens with amnesia in the drastically changed Lake District, where military forces control the inhabited zones, while cultists and bandits occupy the wilderness. The goal is to uncover the truth behind the events and recover lost memories.
Atomfall: Casterfell Woods Gameplay Showcase
With only two weeks left until launch, Rebellion is preparing for the official release of Atomfall on March 27th, 2025, available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Additionally, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. On March 11th, 2025, a substantial Gameplay Showcase was revealed.
Narrated by Anna Sambrooks, the gameplay showcases nearly 20 minutes of adventure in the Casterfell Woods area. The player is more experienced and further along in the story, emphasizing new gameplay elements and story progression.
Atomfall: Experienced Gameplay Highlights
The new Experienced Player Gameplay of Atomfall offers a captivating look into the Casterfell Woods. We follow the protagonist as they search for Mother Jago, pass through the Helicopter Crash Site, and eliminate cultists. Key features include:
- Mother Jago: A mysterious woman encountered in The Old Mine, who holds crucial information within the cultist-controlled zone. She also serves as a merchant, providing necessary supplies and resources.
- Druid’s Camp & Castle Ruins: A cultist encampment located at the base of Castle Ruins. These enemies, having abandoned technology, wield bows, arrows, and melee weapons.
- Bow & Stealth Mechanics: The showcase highlights the use of stealth tactics with a bow and arrows to take down enemies. It also demonstrates how enemies can detect the player’s presence by the sound of their footsteps if they make too much noise.
