With an official announcement on Christmas Eve, the Kunos Simulazioni team reveals what’s coming in Assetto Corsa EVO, with the Roadmap and launch set for 2025

Assetto Corsa EVO (AC EVO) is the next chapter in the beloved racing sim series by Kunos Simulazioni. Since the series debut in 2014, EVO marks the eagerly awaited third-generation instalment. A series that has captured the hearts of many racing enthusiasts with a high-quality racing sim, especially for modding fans.

Announced in 2024, with its release scheduled for Autumn 2025 following a delay announced in October. However, it will be available in Early Access from 16 January 2025, making extensive use of player feedback to shape the 1.0 launch.

Assetto Corsa EVO – The 2025 Roadmap

Ahead of the Early Access release of Assetto Corsa EVO, the Kunos Simulazioni team released a short video on 24 December 2024. In it, Marco Massarutto, Co-founder and Executive Manager, shares what lies ahead for AC EVO.

An invitation to series fans and new players to get a sneak peek of the game months before the official launch at a reduced price, albeit with some content still in development. This also provides the opportunity to contribute feedback to shape the final product.

Assetto Corsa EVO: Early Access Content Available at Launch

The co-founder details what Early Access offers starting 16 January 2025. Here’s what’s included:

• 20 Cars: Featuring various renowned brands and car classes.
• 5 Circuits: Spreading across 4 continents. With Laguna Seca (America), Imola and Brands Hatch (Europe), Mount Panorama (Australia), and Suzuka (Japan/Asia).
• Single Player Content: Featuring an initial single-player segment with Practice Sessions, Quick Races, and the new Driving Academy mode.
• Driving Academy: A new feature enabling players to learn track sections with a wide selection of cars. Ultimately earning the license to drive your dream car.

Assetto Corsa EVO: New Graphics and Simulation Enhancements

A core focus of the series has always been the realism of the driving simulation experience. The team doesn’t disappoint, bringing numerous updates and graphic features.

Physics and Simulation Updates

Driving physics have been refined, featuring real-time tyre simulation and wet conditions. Spectators and race marshals are now more dynamic and varied. Special attention has been given to suspension feel and further enhancements to tyre physics.

Graphical Updates

The Kunos graphics engine has been upgraded to DirectX 12. It features a fully dynamic weather system, including volumetric clouds and fog. There’s also Dynamic Global Illumination for realistic lighting, alongside Ray Tracing support.

AC EVO: Version 1.0 Launch and Free Roaming Mode

One of the most anticipated features is the new Free Roaming mode, offering 1600 km² of roads in Germany’s Eifel region. It includes the iconic Nürburgring, faithfully recreated through drone scans and panoramas. Available in phases ahead of the 1.0 version’s Summer 2025 launch.

The team emphasizes that this mode is an additional feature, not AC EVO’s primary focus. The full version 1.0 is set for release in Autumn 2025. The Early Access with a discount is available from 16 January 2025.
